What this site hosts

manhwaindex is a catalog. It stores titles, release dates, genres, short synopses, scores, character profiles and thumbnail cover art, all supplied by the public AniList API.

There are no chapters, no scans, no episodes and no video on this site. Every reading or streaming link points at a publisher, a licensor or a licensed streaming service. We do not link to scan sites, aggregators or mirrors, and we refuse requests to add them.

Cover art and synopses

Cover images are shown small, beside factual information about the work they identify, and each one points the reader towards a legal place to buy or read it. We believe this is fair use. If you hold the rights and disagree, we will remove the material rather than argue about it.

How to send a notice

Email dmca@manhwaindex.com. Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. section 512(c)(3), a valid notice must include all of the following:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
  3. The exact page address on manhwaindex.com where the material appears.
  4. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the owner.

What happens next

  • We acknowledge every complete notice within 3 business days.
  • Valid notices are actioned within 10 business days, usually much sooner.
  • Because the site rebuilds from AniList every night, we also add the item to a permanent exclusion list so it does not come back on the next build.

Counter-notice

If your material was removed by mistake, send a counter-notice to the same address with your signature, the material removed and where it was, your contact details, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake or a misidentification.

Repeat infringers

This site has no user accounts and accepts no uploads, so there is nothing for a third party to post here. Any platform we link to that turns out to be unlicensed is removed from the index permanently.

Wrong address?

If your complaint is about a scan site, we are not it, and we do not link to it. Please send your notice to the host of that site instead.
